You’re probably familiar with the Red Bull Music Festival. It occurs annually in cities all over the United States. Luckily, right as summer hits and everyone breaks out of their winter doldrums, the Red Bull Music Festival is bringing its nationally acclaimed events to showcase the talent in New York City.
As the kickoff for the Red Bull Music Festival New York 2018, If This Knowledge Scares You, The Equation is Working will be the first event of the month. It’s described as “a celebration of RAMMΣLLZΣΣ’s singular creative heresy and commitment to the liberation of language and expression as manifested in a New York City-heavy lineup of kindred voices.”
Confused? Don’t be. It’s supposed to be a wonderful night of collaborative voices, ranging from noise duos, punk bands, rap powerhouses, MCs, and self-proclaimed “defenders of all that is sonically shitty and beautiful.”
This is the sixth consecutive year for Red Bull Music’s festival in New York, and all month long during the month of May, there will be original programming exploring the sonic landscape of the boroughs and neighborhoods of New York. This event is tied to Red Bull Arts’ exhibition Rammellzee: Racing for Thunder, the first major survey of Rammellzee’s work, which will be open May 4-August 26.
