If communal musical relationships aimed at collectively producing and creating new art sounds up your alley, then trust us, this act is for you. NOUS is an endlessly experimental ensemble created and curated by composer and producer Christopher Bono, signed to non-profit label Our Silent Canvas.

Each installment features a different group of artists, and the creative topic alters with them. This installation features bassist Christopher Pravdica (Swans, Yonatan Gat), drummer Mike Pride (Millions of Dead Cops, Anthony Braxton), and saxophonist Matt Nelson (tUnE-yArDs, GRID).

As founder Christopher Bono explains, “Nous aspires to bypass the lower level thought patterns of the egotistical mind and encourages the connection of those involved to reach a higher level of consciousness, providing a creative space where intuitive, unexpected, and unexplained results can occur.”

The experience of seeing NOUS live is one of a kind, and is unlike any performance you’ve ever experienced before. Luckily, they’re currently doing a brief stint of shows, and you can check out this unique, experimental sound in their upcoming shows in the Northeast, including Philly and Brooklyn.
