Brooklyn Bowl during Brooklyn Comes Alive

Brooklyn’s heart beats with the vitality of 2.5 million people living in just 70 square miles. People from all over the world, living and working together in hundreds of diverse communities throughout the borough.

Sometimes, Brooklyn gets a shot of pure adrenaline and then it really comes alive. That’s what Brooklyn Comes Alive aims to do. They’re bringing over 100 artists to three venues in Williamsburg over two days, September 23rd and 24th.

But you may be thinking, “How do they logistically fit that many artists into the schedule?” And that’s what makes the event so unique. If they all went one after the other, it’d probably be a tight squeeze, even going from brunch to the early morning. But if you’ve attended either of the past two iterations of Brooklyn Comes Alive, you know it’s a one-of-a-kind event that has the artists perform in unique jam sessions, supergroups and never-before-seen collaborations.

That’s an incredible and comprehensive lineup. Just some of the highlights draw from funk, jam, electronic, afrobeat, bluegrass, jazz, reggae, drum and bass, pop, rock and roll and more. Iconic legends such as John Scofield, George Porter Jr., Cyril Neville, DJ Premier, Johnny Vidacovich and Henry Butler join members of nationally-touring bands such as Grammy-award-winning Snarky Puppy, The Meters, Primus, Soulive, Lettuce, The Motet, Lotus, Railroad Earth, The Infamous Stringdusters, Yonder Mountain String Band, The String Cheese Incident, The Russ Liquid Test, Sunsquabi, Pendulum, Destroid, The Crystal Method, Midnight North, Aqueous, Kung Fu, Electric Beethoven, and more. And even that massive paragraph of names doesn’t cover the totality of the lineup.

Want to get in on this incredible event? It’ll be taking place between Music Hall of Williamsburg, Brooklyn Bowl, and Schimanski, all within walking distance of each other! Or running, between every artist and set you want to check out.
