12th Planet and his influential label SMOG Records are widely credited for constantly expanding and championing global bass culture, and continue to be a crucial force in the evolution of electronic music.
The diversity of his mixes and off-axis beats have been a potent, undeniable, and as far as anyone can tell, unstoppable force in cross-pollinating different forms. Like some kind of dopeass Pied Piper, he’s been able to usher fans back and forth, introducing them to new subgenres of the ever-evolving dance scene, whether it was his infectious “trap rave” mix of Ace Hood’s “Bugatti” that he played at Electric Daisy Carnival or the the Skrillex collaboration “Right On Time” that first put him on the map back in 2011.
His DJ sets now include a myriad of styles that reflect the current, diverse landscape of bass music and continue to display his role as an essential tastemaker in the dance music world.
