It’s not everyday you see the word “airline” and “concert” in the same sentence. However, Southwest Airlines has done just that. On June 26th, Southwest will be hosting a concert called “Destination: Red Rocks” and they have chosen six emerging artists from cities across America for a chance to open for hometown headliner, The Fray.
What’s even more amazing about this concert is that it’s free to the public and they are donating to a local non-profit called Amp the Cause, showing support to the music community in Denver.
Each group or artist will perform at 35,000 feet aboard a Southwest Airlines flight, where a small group of music industry experts will pick the winner to receive $5,000 and open at Destination: Red Rocks. The final six bands are from Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Phoenix.
