WayHome Festival is now going into its third year, and the Toronto-based music and arts fest will span three days at the end of July.

In the organizers’ own words:

Everything is social-in-your-face-all-the-time connected now. I can’t shake the feeling that I’m missing something. But then I hear a song, or read a book, or see something that makes me think; that reminds me what it’s like to be inspired. That reminds me what it feels like to know my way.

This is not the music festival you think it is. We are about what happens when different and interesting people come together. We are making this about music, food, art and film. And we’re making it a place for people who love one or all of those things to come together to make a kaleidoscope of sound, smell, color, and spectacle.

Next up, who’s going to be there?!?!?

Yes, there are going to be some massive bands, including Flume, Cage the Elephant, Foster the People, Imagine Dragons, Vance Joy, Marshmello, Frank Ocean, Tegan and Sara, and Banks, but definitely check out some of the smaller acts. They’ve got a few that will blow you away.

San Fermin
Brooklyn-based indie rock band who put out their first full-length in 2013. You may have seen them at other festivals like Lollapalooza or Austin City Limits. Check it out if you’re looking for pure passion, beautiful harmonies, and more instruments than most.

You could call them an alt-country band but at the end of the day, they’re just straight up amazing musicians that could be categorized in a bunch of genres. It’s straight up feel good down home rock ‘n’ roll.

This New Orleans band formed back in 2002, but when you listen to them it sounds like they came out of the womb together. Just an incredible mix of sounds from electro to psychedelic to jam band. If you’re not swooning when you see them live, we have nothing in common.

Some are trying to call her emo, but I’m going with pure rock ‘n’ roll through and through. She’s from Japan and got her musical start in New York City. Definitely put her on your list and tell her that you put her on it, she’ll appreciate it.

Clairmont the Second
Toronto’s own is coming to WayHome. The sound isn’t like a lot of what’s out there, he describes himself as “neo-soul and R&B infused with rap.” If you’re looking for something completely outside the realm of rock, you’ve found your must-see.
